After 20 years of partnered bliss, Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better or worse, get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the "family business": Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the star performer, "Zaza." Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as "normal" when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.

The first time I saw Terry Johnson’s version of La Cage aux Folles on the West End I was overwhelmed at the integrity of this new version of the show. When it came over to Broadway, I was selected by Terry, Sonia Friedman and David Babani to serve as Resident Director for the Broadway engagement. I had no idea that my journey with La Cage would lead me to working with the talents of Dougas Hodge, Kelsey Grammer, Harvey Fierstein, George Hamilton, Christopher Sieber, Brent Barrett, and Alan Mingo Jr. This show is about love and family, and every production that I mount is a testament to the integrity that Terry Johnson layered on this beautiful American musical.
